Bristin was born and raised in Newport Beach, Ca. She started dancing at the age of two and it quickly became her passion. She graduated from Newport Harbor '00 and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in '04 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. That same year she received her Pilates Certification from Body Arts and Science International where she studied directly under Rael Isacowitz. She immediately fell in love with Pilates because it synchronized her passion for dance and her Kinesiology degree.
Jessica discovered the benefits of Pilates in 2003 and she immediately new this was something she wanted to share with others. Jessica received her Bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in the human body from the University of San Diego, and was comprehensively trained in the Pilates method by Core Conditioning Pilates and Physical Therapy. Her training includes special populations, as well as pre, and postnatal.
She continues to attend workshops and continuing education seminars to stay ahead of the constantly evolving fitness industry. Since Jessica began her Pilates career in 2005, she has worked as a Physical Therapist aide and utilized Pilates as a modality under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Jessica also worked as an Athletic Trainer assistant at the University of San Diego. Throughout her Pilates career having worked for many studios the things she enjoys most about teaching Pilates, is bringing postural awareness, witnessing a confidence boost in her clients, and seeing peoples bodies being physically changed.
Ornela Xhaferri after she received her college degree in Musical Arts in her home town Elbasan, Albania she moved to Greece and worked as a travel agent. A few years later she moved to Newport Beach California where she discovered Pilates. After her first session of Reformer Pilates she just knew that she was destined to become a Pilates instructor. So she got her Teacher Training Program Certification through Balance Body University (Curriculum) in December 2009.
Ornela’s excellent training allows her to fully challenge every body. She takes her students through custom programs built on the integrity of the classical technique. Ornela keeps her students moving with the proper form to maximize the benefits from each session. Just as importantly, her exuberant personality and creativity keep sessions fun and fresh.
MISTY MOON NICKEL, Certified Pilates Instructor, LMP
New to the area, Misty is excited to join the Escape teaching team! Misty laid down roots in Seattle as a professional dancer and taught all forms of movement, dance and yoga in the Seattle area for over 20 years. Passionate about integrating movement into healing, Misty practices as a Certified Stott Pilates instructor, advanced yoga instructor, Barre instructor and Certified Herbalist. She has trained with many top Physical Therapists on the west coast and has completed courses from Australian Physical Therapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). Misty is the founder of Bria’s Pilates Teacher Training Program and is a licensed massage therapist in Washington and in California.
Misty was selected as “Seattle's Best Pilates Instructor” by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine and received national recognition when Allure Magazine named her "Seattle's Best Massage Therapist."
Dedicated to a life-long pursuit of the healing and moving arts, Misty studies around the world and remains current with the ever-evolving science of movement by frequently attending workshops and continuing education classes. She enjoys enriching others' lives by drawing on her wide background of related work and employing her extensive knowledge of anatomy and healing.
